The 2009 race season, we ran 9 of the 12 races in the Super Truck Series at Langley Speedway, finishing 9th overall.  For the 2010 season, we will be running the Chevy S10 again and are shooting for 12 of 12 races. Great local short track racing starts on Saturday nights at 7pm, Gates open at 6:30pm.   Come out and watch some great close local short track racing, where "Rubbing is Racing". 10/12/09   Let me first say THANK YOU to our gracious sponsors: King Trailer Rental,  Christopher Bean Coffee, Staton Bookkeeping, Snap-On, Lil' Richie, ProFox Racing, Digatron, Graphics by Russ, and Save the Ta-Ta's, without all of your help we would not have had as much success as we did. Well the 2009 season is finished and we ended up 9th overall in the points standings. Saturday night was very frustrating for us in terms of motor problems. Last week the water pump failed and as a result the head gasket blew also. we found that and got it fixed but evidently something else was wrong. During practice we starting seeing a lot of blow-by again. We were working on the truck trying to find out what was causing the blow-by and missed qualifying. We figured starting in the back was better than destroying another motor this year! We think the valve seals have failed and that was causing our motor problems. We reassembled everything and went racing. the truck was smoking and a little down on power but smoking and all we moved up to 9th and were challanging for 8th when we got black flagged. Too much smoke and it was starting to collect and drip onto the track. Our night was over but we had enough points to move from 10th to 9th in the overall standings. This is a great finish for us considering we missed 2 races early in the year due to motor problems and had gotten black flagged the last 2 races of the year. well we are going to figure out the motor issues and be back again strong next year. This has been a great year for Holbrook Motorsports. 10/5/09   Just when we thought we were making headway, another iceberg in the way! After having gotten off to a decent day by qualifying 9th, we jumped up to 7th from the start. we were able to stay up with the pack for about 8 laps until we got black flagged for leaking something on the track. Pulling into the pits so the officials and John could look at the truck revealed nothing leaking. The official gave us the ok to return to the spot in line where we were at. After getting there, the green dropped and off we went..... for half a lap until the yellow came back out. This was to put me back in the rear of the field. We questioned why and were told because the official had been told to put us in the back. We went there and at the restart came out charging back towards the front. The truck was handling much better and a lot easier to drive. On lap 13 we were black flagged again due to a leak and we were parked. We looked all around for the leak and couldn't find it until the next day when we refilled the radiator. The new water pump that we had put on earlier in the year when the motor had to be rebuilt had failed and was the cause of the leak. We have already gotten that replaced and have issues with the starter now. It got soaked but not sure exactly what the issue is. we will have it repaired or replaced before Saturday. It is the last race of the year and we are only a few points behind 9th in the standings and 8th place is still possible but is a real long shot. Luck would have to be on our side. We are starting to gather up sponsors for the 2010 racing season as we put together our racing plan. 9/24/09   We raced in both the 9/5 and 9/19 races. There was the usual beating and banging that goes on in short track racing but we managed to steer clear of most of that. The truck handling is giving us problems trying to figure out how to get the truck around the corners. We have been trying different things with adding and removing weights. Getting closer but still lagging behind by about half a sec a lap.  On 9/5 we finished in 8th place but on 9/15 we finished in 7th. we ran in 5th for a few laps then dropped to sixth as the tires started to fall off. tried to hold on to sixth but coming out of turn 4 on the last lap, Cory was able to turn under us and beat us to the line by about half a fender. By then the truck was driving like it was on ice and the outside wall was getting pretty close out of the corners. We are still trying different things to get better. We are planning on making up more ground with the 2 races left for the year, we're not done yet! 8/16/09   Saturday was a very good day for the Holbrook Motorsports Team. We had some suspension issues but worked through those and after getting those fixed we started out 10th of 12. During the start there was some beating and banging going into turn 1 and we got around that mess untouched. Made it out of that and into 5th where we ran for quite a few laps. We got passed by Troy Turnage putting us in 6th where we finished. The truck was running good with the Marty Strickland Racing Motor  and with the help from some of our other sponsors, we got some much needed suspension help too. There are a couple things we are going to try to get better before our next race. Hope to see you at the races. 8/9/09   Well we raced on the 1st of August and had some problems with qualifying. We ended up qualifying 12th and moved up to a 9th place finish. We are still working with the handling and qualifying but like we figured, it is slow going. We also had a race on the 8th but it got rained out and is scheduled to be run on Sept. 19th. Hope to see you there. 7/19/09   Saturday Night gave us a lot of confidence, we are heading in the right direction. We switched back to our old sway bar on the front end and got it adjusted so it would work, this helped to get rid of some of the push from the truck. It also helped to get rid of a little bit of the body roll and the truck handled better. As the race started we were qualified in 8th and the pack didn't just run off and leave us. We fought our way up to 4th at one point, but had some help of a couple other drivers spinning each other out. That forced them to the rear. We had about 7 laps to go after the last caution flag and managed to hold on to a 6th place finish, we didn't quite have the truck to hold on to a top 5 finish. We want to thank King Trailer Rentals, Christopher Bean Coffee, Staton Bookkeeping, Snap-On, Lil' Richie, ProFox Racing, Digatron and Graphics by Russ for their sponsorship help in getting us this far this year. 6/29/09   Well we made it to the track again Saturday night with all the repairs done. We qualified 12th but the push has come back on the truck. This next couple weeks we are going to try to make some suspension adjustments to help get rid of the push again. We had it out at the beginning of the year but got it back when we had to move the fuel cell and battery box to pass tech inspection. There was some good racing and the motor is running strong. We were able to catch and pass some of the other trucks to end up finishing 10th by the time the checkered flag dropped. We are working hard to start moving forward after getting such a rough start to our rookie year. 6/25/09   After a tedious search for another crank pulley we finally found it and should have the truck together before Saturday. Last race we had to pack up early because the crank pulley on our S10 came apart. The pulley seperated around the bolts and left part of the pulley still bolted to the crank, nasty brittle failure of the pulley. The truck got hot and got a little overheated, but lost only about half a gallon of water. We did some tests on the motor and seems to be alright, won't know for sure til this weekend. Hope this year starts getting better for us, been a string of bad luck and unlucky breaks so far. 6/17/09   Well it has been a little while since I have had time to update the website. The truck was ready for the 6/6/09 race and we qualified 11th, with our fastest time to date. As the starting flag dropped we were off, only to be black flagged. We were leaking fuel, the fuel filler cap gasket had gotten pinched and wasn't sealing. Fortunatly there was a caution flag and we pitted under yellow. We had to start in the back of the field but we were no laps down. We worked our way up to finally finish 13th out of 16 trucks. Definetly not the finish we were looking to put on the board. The truck wa pushing really bad after about 8 laps and was a handful to try to drive. It was bouncing all over the place along with the understeering issues so we have tried to fix the problems and will be back out on the track for the 6/20/09 races! 5/23/09   We were supposed to have race #3 today but it was cancelled due to the running of the USA Pro Cup series at Langley. This just gives a couple more weeks to be ready to rock and roll when we hit the track again. We were really hoping to run today since we missed race #2. that hurt our points standings a bit but was unavoidable. 4/27/09   We have found our problem and have dug up enough spares to put another motor together. We blew out the head gasket between #2 and #3 cylinders and dug a ditch between the 2 cylinders into the block. Also ended up with 2 burned up pistons and some other associated problems. It will be close but we are pushing to get the motor fixed and back racing by the May 9th race. 4/20/09   We have looked from top to bottom and front to back for this crazy problem we are having with keeping the motor running and running good. There are only a couple more items to check and then not sure. We will keep you posted on the progress and are working feverishly to get the motor repaired before race #2. 4/11/09   Today we went out there looking to place in the top five, but ended up in the top ten. There were a couple big issues that put us there, first is that we qualified 15th due to running on 2 cylinders. The new set of plugs we put in did not hold up and we burnt the electrodes clean off. The other issue is that after much deliberation as to why the plugs did that, we put in a better set of plugs and went to race. We checked carb, timing, float level, and anything else associated with that to figure out the problem, but nothing showed to be the cause. Putting it back together we decided to go out and turn some laps as good as we could and hopefully finish with the oil pan intact! When the green flag dropped we were pedal to the metal for the entire race, giving that we were firing on three and not four. We were able to stay infront of a couple people and there were a couple accidents so with that and keeping it together under the hood, we felt that this was as good of a turn out as we could have hoped for. Our next race is in about 3 weeks so we will be working feverishly to get the problem figured out and corrected. If you might have any ideas as to what could be the cause, send us an email. Thanks again to our 2009 sponsors for getting us to the track. 4/6/09   Practice went pretty good today. Felt great to get back out on the track and turn some laps. Truck ran very well and we started to dial in the set up. Had a couple problems getting through tech, but working on those and will be racing on Saturday! Wrestlingpic.com was there and took a lot of pictures. We will get those posted up here this week when we get them, truck looks really good. Thank you to all the 2009 sponsors for helping get the truck on the track! 3/27/09   The truck paint job is done and graphics are expected here any time. they will get put on and be ready for practice next week with the first race of the season just one more week after that. April 11th is the opening night for the Super Truck race class but there is a practice from 12:30pm to 4:00pm on 3/28 and 4/4. Admission is free to come out and watch if you can't wait for opening day. Still have some more work to do to get the truck finally together but they are little things like putting the roll bar padding in, putting the shocks back on and getting new tires. Christopher Bean coffee company has given us a couple items to give away so you can try their great coffee. 3/16/09   The truck is out of the paint booth and now can get the graphics work done. Final assembly should not take very long and then we can get started on the set up. Glad to see the truck finally done. Thank you "Lil' Richie", Jeff and Mike for the paint and body work. Truck really looks good! 3/13/09   Worked all week on getting the drive shafts cut and balanced and rewiring the truck. It took most of the week to wire the dash up and run all the wires to the engine compartment. But the great news is that the truck is in the paint booth as we speak. Lil' Richie is applying the Chevy colors to the S10. When it is done, I will shoot some pictures and get them up here. The graphics are coming soon but there is still some room left for more sponsors. 3/7/09   The truck body work is done and it has been primered. still working to get it back together but have ran into more issues. Working those out and hope to have truck painted in next week or so and then graphics and RACE RACE RACE. 2/22/09   We got some more body work done this weekend and should be ready to paint by the end of the week. We will post some new pictures of the truck after it is painted and graphics put on. There is still room on the truck for some more sponsors, send us an email if you are interested. WOW, this is good coffee. 2/13/2009   The truck is starting to look like a race truck again. Put the motor and transmission back in. Spent awhile finding parts for the transmission. Ended up combining a couple parts transmissions to get one complete one. Still a little left to do on the body and chassis but we are moving along. Looking forward to the first race on April 11th. Hope to see you there. 2/8/2009   The last couple weeks have been pretty busy. We are very pleased to announce we have a new sponsor for the 2009 race season. We look forward to seeing you at theraces on saturday nights. 1/24/2009   Langley had their drivers meeting today and the season will be starting soon. The truck just got the chassis and interior painted today. We will start putting the truck back together this week. We plan on being together by the beginning of the April practice sessionsto get it dialed in. There are still sponsorship spots left on the truck and we would gladly welcome the opportunity to work with you to help promote your business. 12/23/2008   Thanks for stopping by during the off season. We all here at Holbrook Motorsports would like to wish you and yours a very merry holiday season and the best of everything for the New Year. The truck is coming along nicely with the repairs. Just taking our time since we have the time right now. Thank you again and have a safe and happy holiday season.  10/4/2008   We had planned for just about everything but never expected the new fuel pump we put in last race to fail today. It failed as we were loading the truck into the trailer and not having another spare we were lucky to find one at J&J Performance. We put it in at the track and just barely made it to the first practice. The truck felt pretty good for about a lap and a half, then it dropped the driveline in turn three and we coasted into the pits. Again, we never planned to have the new u-joints fail after 4 races. We asked around and found a driveshaft because ours ended up getting bent. The one we found was too short but Hugo Belfiore had another driveshaft he thought would fit, but it was not at the track. The waiting was terrible but it showed up and was long enough to work. Only problem now was that we missed qualifying again and had to start in the back at 14th. We were just happy to get on the track for the race and figured that we had nothing to loose and would give it everything we had. We didn't know what our set up on the truck would do because we had no practice time and we were not too far off. This lead us to a few hair raising exits off turns 2 and 4, but our luck had changed, we made it up to 7th place before the checkered flag dropped on the last race of our 2008 season. This gives us an overall finishing place of 12th with only running 5 races. 9/20/2008   It was a nice cool day and was overcast all day. Even though it threatened to rain, we didn't get a drop! It stayed cool all day and even though the lap times are not our fastest, the truck handled better and we have been making adjustments on it all the time. We qualified 10th because the fuel pump failed on the way to qualifying and we didn't get it fixed until after qualifying was over. Starting 10th we got stuck behind the 7th to 10th place trucks and took us almost 15 laps to get around them. We tried high and low. We almost had them inside by going three wide but ran out of straight before having to get slowed down for the corner. We managed to get past them and tried our hardest to make up the distance to the 6th place truck but they were almost 1/2 a lap ahead. Even though we ended up 7th, we were happy with the adjustments we made and are getting closer to running up front. 9/13/2008   Well over the last month we have been straightening out the back end after our wreck back on 8/9/2008. When we got to the track today we felt pretty good about how the truck should be handling, but we were not really sure because we didn't have any testing or practice time. The first practice we found out that we were running way off the pace and worked on the motor to figure out where all our power had gone. We found a couple issues but the most significant was the spark plugs had gone bad. We replaced them with another fresh set and the motor came back to life. We dialed in a bit better on the last practice and went out to qualify. We qualified 9th (last) but our time was pretty close to 8th. Race time got here and we were ready for the big 40 lap B&C Seafood "Dash for the Cash". What a good race it turned out to be. We stayed up on the lead lap and at one point we were running 3rd. We ended up with a 5th place finish, our first top five! What a night. We would like to say "thanks again" to John and Leroy for stepping in as our pit crew. 8/16/2008   We have been working on getting the back of the  truck straightened out and looks kinda like it was... sort of. It doesn't look like we will be ready for the next race. There is still some more welding to do and some parts to fabricate before getting back on the track. Truck was running really good and handling well before the crash. Hopefully we can get back to that point pretty quickly. There are a few new pictures posted on the Photos page that were taken by a race fan in the stands. They got them to me but said the camera didn't snap off fast enough to make a movie like scene but you can see kinda what happened. Thanks to all the friends and fans who attend the Saturday Night races at Langley, really do enjoy seeing you in the grandstands! 8/9/2008   WOW, what an exciting evening, things starting to come together. Will write more details in next couple days, and updates on getting truck repaired. Back end damage and looks like 1 wheel got trashed, but looks like we can fix it. 7/12/2008   After overcoming many different obsticles, we were able to make it on to the track. But why should today be any different for us? We had problems getting through pre tech but did get through in time for practice session #3. We were having transmission issues but were still able to use 2nd, 4th and reverse. During our practice session we found out we had a carb problem, also and the "squirter" was sending too much fuel. This caused us to run way too rich and load up. My pit crew did a great job getting a good set up on the truck and getting the transmission issue fixed so we had all 4 gears and reverse. We gave it a shot at qualifying and managed to qualify 10th out of 13 for the main. The carb would be the issue to come back and haunt us in the main. We had left our spare carb in the shop while loading up the truck this morning. The carb builder came by and did some minor repairs but wasn't able to get us 100%, we basically were running without an accelerator pump. The truck sounded like a string of fire crackers going off with all the popping it was doing. Even though it was running rich still, we ran pretty well. Considering not having any practice time or shake down after getting the truck back together for the year and everything else we went through today, we were able to come away with a great outlook and a plan for improvement. We would like to thank all our sponsors for their help in getting us on the track and also those who were able to get to the track tonight and cheer us on. Keep checking back for more updates, we will be getting better!! 6/7/08   The truck is almost ready for getting back on the track. We have been working on it all week and just ran out of time before todays race. We are planning on making the practice session before the race on 6-21 to see where we stand and how our changes have helped. We are excited to be so close to getting back on the track. Looking at the previous race results, there is some pretty good close competition and we plan on being in the mix! We will have new photos of the truck up this or next week after the graphics are done also. 5/14/08   Well the truck is done at the welding and paint shop and we are working furiously to get it ready for the track. We missed the first 2 races already but look at having a great remainder of a year. We ended up having to do quite a bit more work than we had originally planned and that is why it took longer than anticipated. Now we are off to Gear Head Graphics to get the lettering done and Henni's Embroidery is geting us some hats and shirts together so also. We still have some room for sponsors and would love to talk with you about a sponsorship package. Well it is off to work on truck and we look forward to seeing you at the races. 3/5/08:   Things are coming along slowly because of a couple set backs. We are still trying to get the truck back together after working over the off season to get it up to speed with the current rules. Looks like we will make it except for our set back in the carburator department. The carb was supposed to get rebuilt but instead has gone missing, along with the guy who was going to rebuild it for us. If everything goes well we should have it located and back or located another one to replace it. We will get pictures up as soon as we get the truck finished painted and Gearhead Graphics finishesa the graphics for us. We are starting to get anxious to get behind the wheel and back on the track to see how our work turns out. Hope to see you at the races. 12/1/07:   The truck is getting updated with the required changes to fuel cell placement and safety items. It is getting a little bit of body work done by Mike to smooth out some of the bumps and scratches. These are not really cosmetic changes but some required maintenance and safety modifications to make sure we are up to tech and safe for 2008. We are still looking for some more sponsors and have some great advertising room left.
